Got a late start as I was doing final repacking of bike stuff and loading the bike at my brother's placece out side of Birchwood WI.

Was shooting for 11, scrambled out a few minutes before noon.

I have 40ish miles to go to a private place I emailed, they have room.

Part way through my ride, I realized I got my possible  destinations confused. And I have misunderestimated the distance, it is 55+ mile to that destination. Fortunately I have been making close to 11mph, so I should be there before 6, which is pretty dusky in these parts.

Another glorious day up here, partly cloudy, in the low 70s I would guess. Trees are in fine autumnal colors. Some of the smaller roads have a yellownorange tunnel feel to them.

Ponds, lake and fields create breaks and one can see trees torching their colors across the way.

Well I finally make it the campground, very nice host and the resort is us great shape.

But as I am paying up, a feel a drop, and some more. I start thinking

Sprinkle sprinkle big grey cloud

Hope you don't thunder very loud.

Sprinkled enough to get everything damp, but doesn't really slowdown camp setup and dinner. I get a hot shower in a new facility.

And off to bed.

I fall asleep quickly after my big opening day.
